The concept comes from the ecology of salmons.
When they reach sexual maturity they start a desperate race for ther life against the flow of the river. Their destiny is to either die in this race (pushed away by the stream of the river, starving , eaten by a predator...) or to reach the place where they were born, reproduce and die anyway fulfilling their life goal.
Sounds perfect for a racing kart, doesn't it?

Final render, Wireframe, Base colour and Rigging

I rigged the kart in order to have a believable vibration, generated from the motor.
Rigging structure: The motor bone (in red) generates the vibration and transmits it to the back wheels and the main body (in yellow).
The rest of the bones are parented to the main body.
Inverse Kinematics is used on some wheels to keep them on the ground but retain the vibration effect.

How it would look like in a racing game selection screen

The appearance is mostly inspired by the Sockeye salmon (Oncorhynchus nerka) a North American species wich I chose because of its beautiful, vibrant colour palette, and the "salmon traits" being particulary evident (hump and beak).
