An old windmill towering over the landscape of a rice field, a swamp village infested with mosquitoes, trees and bushes thriving along the sea shore.
These are 3 scenes I made in Unity HDRP that taught me important skills such as: time management, planning, post-processing, how to re-use previously made assets and shaders...

First scene: windmill and rice fields. I only had 2 weeks to make this scene from scratch.

The evolution of the scene. I started by blocking out the terrain based on an interesting camera POV

For the windmill I decided to combine more stylized elements (like showing only some bricks) with more gritty detailed textures.

Finishing this scene in only two weeks required careful planning and time management. I was forced to really think about what is necessary for the scene to work.

I took inspiration from rice fields in north-western Italy. Elm trees, rice and poppies are present in the scene

Second scene: village in the swamp. I imagined a world inhabited by huge mosquitoes in a swamp environment. In order to repel them, villagers need to put mosquito coil on their roofs.

I started imagining a more dark and eerie mood, but it wasn't coming up as expected, so I completely changed my lighting

The scene was made using a modular workflow

I took inspiration from stilt houses

Third scene: mediterranean nature. This is actually the first scene I made in the semester. The experience and the assets I made from zero were actually re-used in the other works you just saw.

The scene includes trees, bushes and grass, each made with their own shader.
Tree bark and rocks were sculpted.

I took inspiration from mediterranean biome.
Trees: oak, olive, maritime pine.
Bushes: broom, oleander, caper
